Request Your Free Credit Report Online

Recent changes in credit law make it possible for American consumers to request a credit report from each of the three major credit bureaus once a year at no cost. The free credit report system was phased in since November 2004, with credit reports available to residents of all states by September 1, 2005.

As of September 1, free credit reports are available to residents of any state in the United States under the new system. The free credit reports do not include your credit score, but the credit score can be purchased for an additional $5-7.

You can choose request your credit reports from all three credit bureaus all at once, or you can request one at a time. Some people prefer to request only one at a time, so they can space their free reports out over the year. Others prefer to request all three so you can compare the reports from each bureau and work on getting any errors resolved. For that reason, we recommend that you request all three credit reports, especially if this is your first time seeing your credit report.

Free credit report requests can be made in thre ways: online, by phone, or by mail.

You now have three different ways you can request your free credit report. You can request it online online at AnnualCreditReport.com
